Get to Know the New Owners of Primrose School of Carrollwood, Cross Creek, and Tampa Palms
Meet Sandy and Shi Deng – proud Franchise Owners of Primrose School of Carrollwood and Tampa Palms, and Penny and Matt McCallister – proud Franchise Owners of Primrose School of Cross Creek.
Longtime residents of the Orlando area, the Dengs and McCallisters have been best friends for many years and are ecstatic to be in this journey together. The Dengs started their entrepreneurial journey in 2013 and relocated to Tampa to build and open their first Primrose school in 2015. The McCallisters helped the Dengs through their entire building and opening process, and decided to join the venture and relocated to Tampa to purchase their very own Primrose School in 2016.
As a brief introduction, Sandy, Shi, Penny, and Matt have always had a passion for making a difference in the lives of others, which led them to Early Childhood Education. Both Sandy and Shi, originally from Suriname and China, respectively, immigrated to the United States in pursuit of quality education when they were teenagers. Sandy earned a Master Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida. Shi earned a Master Degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.
Penny's lifelong passion to care for children led her to become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with a Master Degree in Nursing, specializing in Pediatrics from the University of Florida. Matt earned a Master Degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. His career led him to a position where he was able to help provide low-income housing for those in need.
The Dengs first discovered Primrose Schools in 2009 when searching for childcare options for their son, Kobe. Sandy and Shi both worked full in a safe, nurturing environment that also fostered his learning. After a few months of Kobe attending a Primrose school, Sandy and Shi were not the only ones who noticed his development; family and friends were also impressed with the improvement of his social, emotional and cognitive skills.
It would be Kobe’s development while attending a Primrose school and the Deng’s passion for providing highquality education to other young children that motivated them to open their own Primrose school.
The McCallisters have three wonderful children, Austin, Hunter and Addy. Through parental and work experiences, the McCallisters recognize that quality early childhood education and care with an emphasis on character development nurtures the foundation for one’s future academic and personal successes.
The Dengs and McCallisters believe future success stems from an early commitment and dedication to education. They are impressed by the innovative research-based Balanced Learning® curriculum offered through the Primrose experience and are devoted to partnering with parents to provide their children with a safe, caring environment where they can thrive and grow Active Minds, Healthy Bodies and Happy Hearts®.
Primrose School of Carrollwood, Cross Creek and Tampa Palms offers the Primrose exclusive, research-based Balanced Learning® curriculum, which blends teacher-guided and child-initiated activities with a focus on character development for a wellrounded learning experience.
